Please bear with me while we prepare the new site. It may be harder to find your way round.
Thank you.
The black and white photo is me, lucky enough to be sitting by one of my favourite spots at Milford Sound, New Zealand. Why am I showing you this holiday snap? Well, because I went on that holiday as a full-time primary school teacher and came back as a former one. I decided to have a crack at being an author. It was an expensive holiday in more ways than one...
On these pages you will find out a little bit more about what it is like to start off trying to be a successful author. I'm just one of many thousands of people who have an idea for a book, write it and then find out just how hard it is to be published.
I'm learning a lot as a I go: about publishing, using an agent, self publishing, social media, how to improve as a writer, editing, how to get motivated when I don't want to write, managing distractions (like playing the banjo badly) and, importantly, things about myself as a person.
So please do take a look through my website and let me know what you think using the details on the contact page. I will do my best to get back to you.
I have self-published my first book - Quarton: The Bridge. You'll find a bit of background on that and the other things I'm working on in if you click on 'My Books'.
There are several ways to interact with the site...
Blogs - Check out my blogs which you will find in the 'more' tab. I would love you to comment and contribute your own posts. To do that, become a member using the members' sign in box at the top. Once authorised as a writer, you will be able to post.
Forums - Again from the 'more' tab' you will see the forums option for discussions around writing and ideas for writing. Would be great to hear from you.
Contact - please do contact me using Facebook, Twitter (you will see their icons to the right and at the bottom of the page with my email address) or using the contacts form through the drop down menu. I will do my very best to reply promptly.
One last thought... the last picture is a cheeky one of my book with some of the ones written by my favourite authors.
Which authors would you choose to be photographed with?
